The aim of FameLab is to encourage scientists to inspire and excite public imagination with a vision of science in the 21st century. We are searching for the new faces of Bulgarian science who will be able to develop their ideas and presentation skills for a TV and non-specialist audience. At the auditions you only have 3 minutes to impress the judges by giving an entertaining and original talk (in Bulgarian) that is scientifically accurate but also engaging to a non-scientific audience.

FameLab is an initiative of the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK and this is the fifth year the contest is going international – now in twelve countries in Europe, Asia and Africa through the British Council network.

FameLab in Bulgaria is organised by British Council, Forum Democrit and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, in partnership with the Bulgarian National Television, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia Municipality, Microsoft Bulgaria, Ciela publishing house, ROI Communication publishing house, the Obekti Magazine and others.
